Now I am sure the open rate folks just read that subject line and are foaming at the mouth ready to pass out because of what they just read.
Look;-
Tracking open rates has its place.
But for me right now, it ain't happening.
One reason;-
I have found that when I did track opens and clicks – the total number of clicks shown in an autoresponder were always different than the amount of clicks actually generated.
In fact;-
I've had emails where it would show crazy high open rates and 0 clicks.
But when looking into my click stats – that wasn't even remotely close to being the case.
Second reason;-
There are two reasons why people open emails.
The first is the text before the subject line.
Which in my opinion is far more important than the subject line itself.
The second is the subject line.
Anyways;-
I can't cash open rates at the bank.
They only accept cashola.
Maybe they should start tracking sales made instead of opens.
But that is just me.
