A few years ago I got rid of the contact form on my site.
My reason for doing so?
Pretty obvious.
I got sick and tired of graphic designers, SEO esspurts, and wanna-be marketers thinking they can contact me so easily.
And let me tell you…
Since I got rid of it the number of emails I'd get that would just be a waste of my time has gone down a lot.
But what the hell does this have to do with affiliate marketing?
Well, a few days ago as I was clearing out the junk mail (spam folder) I saw an email from someone I didn't know, have any interactions with, etc.
The email came from when I had the contact form on the site.
The email itself?
Was a hype and swipe job of an email used to promote products as an affiliate.
You know the ones right?
The ones you find on the JV Pages for different products.
Yep, one of those.
Now;-
I don't know who is teaching this to newbies.
But all they are doing is harming the IM community by teaching it.
So if you get anything out of this, let it be this…
Don't randomly contact people using their contact forms promoting a product as an affiliate.
It'll be instantly marked as spam by the receiver (if it wasn't already) and you could have tarnished a great potential relationship you could have built but instead chose to do what other losers are doing.
Best way to promote products as an affiliate would be to build your list.
And if you need help doing that – you might want to hop on the good ol' email list and I'll show you how
