I've made a lot of changes to my business in the last twelve months, and all of them have creating a more stress-free, more enjoyable, and far more profitable online business.
I'll share with you the 7 biggest changes with you in this tutorial, so hopefully you'll implement them into your own businesses, too…
1) No more affiliate marketing
The old way of doing affiliate marketing was stressful.
Meaning;
I had to go out find products to promote and grade the product, if it was good and only if – would I send an email about it to my email list.
The problem with that was I never really had control over the sales process plus of what happens when the Vendor decides to promote products he knows are crap to you.
Just left a bad taste in my mouth so I stopped doing it altogether.
2) Got clear on who I want to serve in my business
This is something I taught on a webinar early last year.
I call it the 5-year time machine.
And although I won't share with you the entire training I will tell you to get clear on who it is you want to work with in your business.
Meaning do you want someone who is just going to buy a product and do nothing with it… or do you want someone who is going to invest into a product and actually implement it.
In other words;
Do you want the money hungry crowd who just focus on the money, money, money and thats it.
Or.
Would you prefer serious players who want the money but know they have to work for it to get it and are willing and ready to do the work?
3) Documenting what has been working for me incredibly well
I do this inside of the Isaiah Jackson Letter.
Anyways;
I share tactics and principles that have worked extremely well for me in my business.
Currently there are 7 issues of the Isaiah Jackson Letter and each one builds on the next in some way, shape or form.
To give you an idea;
The March 2018 issue was about Creating Lead Magnets That Sell while the April 2018 issue was about Creating Products That Sell.
4) Created more products
I'd like to think of these as micro-products.
Nothing big just a 1 problem 1 solution kind of product – exactly like I teach in the April 2018 issue of the Isaiah Jackson Letter.
They normally sell for $17.
Which is great because its not too cheap but also not too expensive.
And very fast to create as well since they only focus on a single problem.
5) Started using real scarcity and urgency
This is really nothing new to me at all.
I've done it before but I just stopped doing it.
So the way it worked was I would open a MP (micro product) for 48 hours and then close it.
Really close it, not pretend close it.
Powerful for a few reasons but here's two;
1) Your customers have to take action on it or wait until the next time it becomes available
2) Gives you a better understanding of your email list
Point #2 is the most important in my opinion.
Because if an offer doesn't work or sell the way you had hoped – you only promoted it for 48 hours – so you know not to offer it again to your list.
6) Got rid of crazy upsell processes
I haven't got rid of them completely.
However…
I don't use them when promoting the MPs.
There is no point to doing so – as they are only focused on a single problem.
Instead I would use an Order Bump for License Rights and that would be the upsell which would be an extra $10 anyways.
7) Started writing so much sales copy that my hands would cramp
To get better at a skill you must practice that skill.
So that's what I did.
I bought a copywriting course (that wasn't cheap at all) and dove in.
Some assignments were to write out sales letters by hand at least 10 times.
Do what you got to do to hone your craft.
Anyways;
How would you use the above information?
Well that's easy.
1) If you fell you have to do affiliate marketing do this…
Find 1 product that you firmly believe in and has helped you in some way.
Promote that product and ONLY that product to you email list
2) Get clear on who you want on your email list
Easy right?
Do you want lazy people who don't buy from you or do you want someone who has money to buy what you have to offer?
3) Document your journey
Either in blog posts you send to your email list or YouTube videos.
What you do is up to you but tell your email list about it regardless.
4) Don't worry about this change
5) Start using real scarcity and urgency
You do this by creating bonuses for the ONE product you are promoting.
So if someone buys XYZ product they get access to X only available for 48 hours after that you pull the bonus for real.
Be serious about taking things away – it will show you subscribers that you are in fact serious.
6) Don't worry about this change either
7) Become good at a skill that will increase revenue in your business
A skill not a tactic.
A skill is the game you play.
Tactics are cheat codes.
Cheat codes are useless if you aren't playing the game.
Thats all I got for you.
