A little over three years ago, a company known as Sunny Co Clothing offered Instagram users a free swimsuit, similar to the one-piece worn by Pamela Anderson on Baywatch.
A suit valued at $64.99.
All you had to do to get it was post the image, tag Sunny co, and pay the shipping.
You know, the typical free plus shipping deal.
What they didn’t count on was the 330,000 people who liked the post and took advantage of the deal.
Sure they had tons of technical issues, but company still decided to take advantage of it delivering on their promise.
Did it destroy them?
It did grow their consumer base pretty quickly but having to give out hundreds of thousands of free suits wouldn’t be worth it in the long run to me.
Should have just sold them at a discount or something…
